THE United States Educational Foundation in India has announced a scholarship for policy makers and administrators. Here's what you need to know:
Name of scholarship: Hubert H Humphrey Fellowships

Country/University: United States of America. Humphrey Program Washington, office will allocate the institution as per your field of specialisation.
Eligibility:
- You are a mid-level policy planner or administrator (includes educational administrators and planners) in the government, public or private sector or NGOs for professional development.
- You are a medical practitioner (Fellowship in Drug Abuse* will be awarded to you).
- You are involved in the fields of Agricultural Development/Agricultural Economics; Communications/Journalism; Substance Abuse Education, Treatment and Prevention; Economic Development/Finance and Banking; Educational Administration, Planning and Policy; HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention; Human Resource Management; Law and Human Rights; Natural Resources and Environmental Management; Public Health Policy and Management; Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration; Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (Teacher Training or Curriculum Development); Technology Policy and Management; Trafficking in Persons, Policy and Prevention; Urban and Regional Planning.
- You have a master's (first class) or a professional degree of at least a four-year duration with a minimum of five years professional experience. In case of NIDA* fellowships, you should have a doctoral degree in Health, Behavioural or Social Sciences (PhD or equivalent), or an MD (Doctor of Medicine).
- You have at least five years of substantial professional experience in the respective field, and are eligible for leave.
- You are 45 years old or younger.
- You give an undertaking to return to India on completion of the fellowship.
These fellowships are designed to provide training in Prevention Research, Epidemiology, Treatment and Substance Abuse Policy Research.
You must be a mid-level research manager and policy maker in drug abuse prevention programmes, health or social services industries, universities or medical facilities with proven track records in research. Professionals employed by social welfare, education or community-based organisations may also apply if they meet other eligibility criteria.
You don't need to pay for:
- J-1 visa support
- Tuition and fees, Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges as per US Government guidelines and domestic travel to the Washington, DC seminar.
- You will also be given monthly stipend, a modest allowance for books and supplies and an allowance for professional activities such as field trips, professional visits, and conferences (these fellowships do not provide an allowance for dependents).
