"I prefer homemade food. It keeps me healthy," vouches Ajosh. He also saves a lot of moolah.
"I don't get why people complain of cold food. We do have a microwave. Once you heat your food for a minute or two, it as good as fresh," he says.
Ajosh packs lunch and dinner, from home. "Mostly, I carry sabji or dal, and buy rotis or rice from the office canteen. This saves mom, time and effort, and costs me Rs 10, per day."
He eats his evening snack, out, because it is not practically possible for him to get all the meals from home. But if given a choice, he would like to eat all home-cooked meals!
But here's the disclaimer. "Please don't assume that my life is boring! I spend my weekends with friends and colleagues and that's when I make the most of it."
Ajosh's expenses on weekends are no different from Abhishek's. He spends approximately Rs 3,000 a month. That amounts to 10 per cent of his salary.
So, is your lifestyle similar to Abhishek or Ajosh? Take a pen and paper and calculate how much of your salary you spend on eating out. Next, ask yourself if it is worth the money, not to mention, the impact on your health. Then figure out, how to cut costs. Good luck!
